Research focus

The Clinical Department of Hematology and Hemostaseology at MedUni
Vienna at Vienna General Hospital primarily wants to make the
innovations discovered in laboratory and preclinical research
available to patients as soon as possible for diagnostics and
therapy ("translational research").

The division is structured into program directorates for laboratory and clinical research. Internationally recognized experts lead these programs, which benefit patients. On the other hand, we offer our patients the opportunity to participate in study programs.

The Division of Haematology and Haemostaseology is also part of the Comprehensive Cancer Center (CCC) of MedUni Vienna and Vienna General Hospital and participates in numerous clinical programs and research collaborations, including the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Haematology and Oncology (Head:  Univ.-Prof. Dr. Peter Valent).
