The Clinical Department of Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine employs 50 staff. The main focus of our clinical activities is on the inpatient and outpatient treatment of patients with infections. Special outpatient clinics provide the best possible care for specific patient groups. The consultation service of the Clinical Department of Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine is staffed 24 hours a day. It routinely attends to the intensive and normal care wards of the entire Vienna General Hospital; in addition, telephone inquiries from other Austrian hospitals and university clinics are processed.
