Prof. Eva Katharina Masel, MD, PhD, MSc is a specialist in internal medicine with a focus on palliative medicine. She is Head of the Division of Palliative Medicine at the Vienna General Hospital of the Medical University of Vienna, where she also holds the Chair of Palliative Medicine. She has a Master's degree in Palliative Care and a PhD in Mental Health and Behavioural Medicine. She specialises in the palliative care of patients with serious illness and the care of their environment, symptom management, the treatment of psychiatric co-morbidity and psychosocial aspects, medical humanities and research in the field of palliative care. She is a member of the board of the Austrian Association of Palliative Care (OPG) and the Austrian Cancer Aid as well as a member of national and international professional societies.
